„Crêuza de mä“ is a portrait of the city of Genoa. The Ligurian title refers to paths that lead to the sea, and is thus a symbol of the city’s extreme location between mountains and sea. With reinforcements and retaining walls, the photographs show sculptural-architectural elements that function as props for the city. The photographs are not solely documentaries, but composed images of material, form and structure. This is reinforced by the subtle, irritating post-processing in the form of collaged silhouettes.
Each copy of the special edition is manually edited with silhouettes and thus becomes a unique specimen. The book has been developed after three months of photographic research and was supported by the Kunststiftung NRW.

„Crêuza de mä“ ist ein Portrait der Stadt Genua. Der ligurische Titel bezeichnet Pfade, die zum Meer führen, und ist damit ein Sinnbild für die extreme Lage der Stadt zwischen Bergen und Meer. Die Fotografien zeigen mit Bewehrungen und Stützmauern skulptural-architektonische Elemente, die als Stützen der Stadt fungieren. Dabei sind die Fotografien nicht ausschliesslich dokumentarisch, sondern komponierte Abbildungen von Material, Form und Struktur. Dies wird durch die subtile, irritierende Nachbearbeitung in Form von collagierten Scherenschnitten verstärkt. Jedes Exemplar der Vorzugsausgabe ist mit tatsächlichen manuellen Schnitten bearbeitet und wird damit zum Unikat. Das Buch entstand nach einer dreimonatigen fotografischen Recherche und wurde von der Kunststiftung NRW gefördert.
